The great, and tragic, irony of the outdoor industry is the gear we use to get out and explore has a tremendous negative impact on the very environment we want to love and protect. But it doesn't have to be that way. We can demand more out of the industry by rejecting companies that design according to planned obsolescence, and supporting companies that make products that stay functional and relevant not just next month or next year, but for the next 10, 20, or more years.
We can also commit to only buying new products when we need them, not just when they go out of style or suffer cosmetic wear and tear. That's where we come in.
In the Adventure Gear Exchange, we want to keep your old gear out of the landfill and put it in the hands of someone who could use it. We want to encourage greater socio-economic diversity in outdoor recreation and adventure, and we want to help protect that environment while we do it.
If you have gear you want to sell, bring it by the shop, in as good of condition as you can get it, and we'll host it, promote it, and sell it for you. We call this "readventuring" your gear. Once it sells, we'll send you a check, or you can keep it as a credit to use on other gear in the exchange. You get rid of old gear, someone who needs it gets it, and the environmental cost of new gear is avoided.
If you're looking to shop online for used gear, hover over "Adventure Gear Exchange" in the menu bar and explore our collections.
